You are enough
There is enough for everyone
Thinking big
Giving back
Good relationship with money
Now that you know the context, lets dive into the why of abundance mindset.
In this article, we will explore why a mindset of abundance is the best way forward when you are struggling financially. It will specifically explain how an abundant mindset will get you closer to achieving your goals.
When we think abundantly, we are creating a foundation of faith. Faith in the universe, in God, in nature and its laws, and more importantly, faith in ourselves. We develop a deep seeded belief that we will be taken care of and we will tide any adversity that comes our way. When we believe in ourselves and in when we believe that there is enough in the world to go around, our feeling of lack tends to dissolve. Years of negative conditioning starts to dissolve, and we reduce the resistance towards the plentiful future we’ve been creating.
"To have faith is to trust yourself to the water. When you swim you don't grab hold of the water, because if you do you will sink and drown. Instead you relax, and float." - Alan Watts
"Believe in yourself, and the rest will fall into place. Have faith in your own abilities, work hard, and there is nothing you cannot accomplish." - Brad Henry
"If you lose faith, you lose all." - Eleanor Roosevelt
When we think abundantly, other areas of our life change. We start becoming more patient in the knowing that good is around the corner, we pay attention to details and develop better relationships with our loved ones. We give back to the society and fill our banks with good faith and love. We finally understand the limiting beliefs we hold around money and see our parents in a new light. They did not know any better either. We see so many areas of our lives transform as we live abundantly.
We often see abundant people with multiple sources of income. When we adopt an abundant mindset, we naturally become creative. Developing good relationships, being attentive, exploring new opportunities and hard work all lead to new sources of income which are quite creative. We see opportunities instead of closed doors and figure out a way to make lemonade from lemons. We suddenly tune into the little clues that life has been leaving us and take action on them. It sparks ideas and fosters creativity.
“Creativity takes courage.” - Henry Matisse
“Creativity is a wild mind and a disciplined eye.” Dorothy Parker
“Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn’t really do it, they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while.” Steve Jobs
Thinking abundantly makes us proactive. We lean towards action and seizing the day. We are grateful for each opportunity and make the most of what is given to us. We become proactive when we have the abundance mindset. We think of each moment and opportunity as a gift as well as a responsibility to not waste it.
“I believe that everyone chooses how to approach life. If you’re proactive, you focus on preparing. If you’re reactive, you end up focusing on repairing.” ― John C. Maxwell
Just like Maxwell puts it, our focus shifts when we think abundantly. We prepare not repair.
“Doing the best at this moment puts you in the best place for the next moment.”
― Oprah Winfrey
“Folks who never do any more than they get paid for, never get paid for any more than they do.”
― Elbert Hubbard
Have you come in your own way of success before? If you have, you know what we mean by resistance. When we want something so intensely, we create resistance by constantly thinking about it. Because when we are so deeply attached to an outcome, we are constantly questioning everything. If you’ve ever had the thoughts”
“When am I ever going to be financially free?”
“Nothing works when it comes to my finances.”
“I don’t know if I will ever get that promotion.”
When we are not in the abundance mindset, we question every little thing that’s happening to us and these thoughts of lack actually creates fiction with our deepest desire to attract wealth. In this manner, we stand in our own way of success. We resist the very thing we want by just wanting it too much and thinking negatively about it when it does not arrive in the ways we expected.
Changing your mindset and thinking abundantly will create belief in self and in the universe, reducing the feelings of lack and resistance.
“By releasing resistance a little more every day, you will feel the power that creates worldsflowing through you.” - Esther Hicks
“Letting go of struggles without first getting a resolution is key.” - Adyashanti
“Sometimes, simply by sitting, the soul collects wisdom.” -Zen Proverb
In the next article, we will talk about ways in which we can start thinking abundantly. Now that we know the what and the why, let's talk about the how.
