The poem, "Don't Quit" is universally loved and is a source of inspiration for many generations. We love the poem for its simplicity and its ability to appeal to all ages and many situations in life. We've heard that this poem is pasted on bathroom mirrors, sung in sermons, framed in offices, and, recited in kindergarten.

Don't Quit

When Things go wrong, as they sometimes will, When the road you're trudging seems all uphill, When the funds are low and debts are high, And you want to Smile but have to sigh. When care is pressing you down a bit, Rest, if you must, but don't you quit. Life is queer with its twists and turns, As everyone of us sometimes learns, And many a failure turns about, When he might have won if he'd stuck it out, Don't give up though the pace seems slow, You might succeed with another blow. Often the struggler has given up, When he might captured the victor's cup. And he learned too late, when the night slipped down, How close he was to the golden crown, Success is failure turned inside out, The silver tint of clouds of doubt, And you never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems afar, So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit, It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.

We've all been there. We've all wanted to quit at some point in our lives. What we want you to understand first is, that this is completely normal. To feel like quitting is built into us. The moment things get difficult and the moment we are forced to change the status quo, our reflexes kick in to resist that change. There is a reason why many of us can't get up in the morning and go to the gym even though we know that it's good for us. Our brain is still wired for survival. This means that if we start on a difficult path, our brains will tell us to quit.

Regardless of who wrote the poem, the message and content of the poem will always inspire us to keep going in our darkest times. It encapsulates the troubles of so many of us that over the years, it truly resonates with everyone.

While we absolutely love this poem and the message, there are times in our lives when quitting makes sense. There are some situations when we just have to give up on something or someone. And that choice to stick around or to quit is extremely hard. So while the poem is moving and inspiring, we also wanted to give you another perspective. So you can make an informed decision on what you need to do.
